Best Buy Ipod Warranty?
I bought an Ipod touch 8GB 3G today with a 2-year warranty. However, I’ve seen too many complains on the Internet and am considering to take the Ipod back to the store. The employee there said within 2 years, if the battery gets weaker, I just bring it to them and they will replace it with the newest generation (excepts the case of physical damage). Are they really going to do that? Is it worth to have an warranty? I also would like to know if I can just get rid of the warranty and keep the Ipod. Thanks for looking at my post!

Best buy ipod warranty?
well i just got an ipod touch 2 months ago and its all scratched. i want a brand new one i got best buy 3 year warranty if i smash it with a hammer and say it broke will i get a new one?

not if you smash it… look carefully at the warranty, it probably says it doesn’t cover damage due to negligence which the explains the scratches because you neglected to buy a case. do yourself a favor and buy a case and refrain from smashing it with a hammer.

The ipod service plan is not an "accidental handling" one. That means that it doesn’t cover any physical damage or submerging it in water. They will be able to tell that you did it on purpose.

best buy ipod warranty?
i brought my ipod to best buy about three months ago where they sent it out for service. Three months have passes and I still didn't get it back. So i called them up and they said that they'll send me a gift card. When i got the gift card I bought a new ipod. Then maybe three days later, they called up saying that they have been authorized to give me a new ipod because it was junked at the service center. Is this unusual? and if you were in my position what would you do?

Did they want the gift card back in exchange for getting you a new iPod? If so, I'd keep the gift card (they should give you the option). This way you can buy what you want at Best Buy and save a few bucks by buying a refurbished iPod at the Apple Store's online clearance section. That's what I would do.

sounds crazy, but take it,
personally stick with Apples Warranty, you get 1 year for everythign that is in the box and if you buy additional warranty, buy applecare I think that they offer up to 3 years warranty.

ive had my IPhone 3GS since june and the battery has gotten weaker. Its part of the gig.
i say keep the warranty, youve already paid for it. besides if anything happens you know where you can take it to.
If you change everything and do it online, you dont know whose working on your IPod, or a name to equate the work to.
