Can a new car dealership service an old, out of warranty vehicle?

For example, can a new car Volvo dealership fix my old Volvo 850's power steering pump? Paying them of course since it would be way out of warranty.

sure they will fix it but they will be a lot more expensive than a independent mechanic.

Certainly, but at a price. Main dealerships are notorious for charging sky high prices for parts and servicing, if I were you I would shop around before you commit yourself.

Of course they can, and they would love to get the work. You will find that the dealer's service department is usually the most expensive choice. A good independent private shop can most likely do the repair as well for less money.
