ipod touch extended warranty?

hey i was just wondering if the only time you could get an extended warranty with the ipod touch was when you bought it

    With applecare, apples warranty, which is great, you can still get it after a couple of days of owning it, but I don’t know about longer then that, I do know you can get it even if you bought the ipod elsewhere like I did, I got mine at bestbuy
