lexus is250 warranty service?

When i hit the 15,000 miles mark on the odometer, I started experiencing squeeks & rattles, mainly in the centre of the dash, the dash area in front of the passenger and weired noise from the odometer. The noise comes and goes. recently i took the car to the warranty service and they kept it for about 1 week and at last they said they can only do as much. i still have the same rattle and noise from the odometer. they said they did insualtion and other work and thats how much they can do. i told them other IS250 dont have such noise and its a luxury car it should be nice and quiet. i dont know what they are doing. what is the best thing to do at this point. Thanks

Take it back and tell them to FIX it! You are correct, it is a Luxury car and should NOT have those noises. Check your states laws as far as Lemon law. Most states have a provision that says they have 3 attempts to repair the defect or refund your money or replace the car with a duplicate model. Good luck.

Find out who is the general manager of the dealership and kindly explain what is going on. Then if nothing there works, contact Lexus headquarters directly and explain the situation.

smarterchild_usa, I’ve always purchased an extended auto warranty for every car I’ve owned in the last 5 years. In the beginning I used to get them from the dealer, but I’ve found it’s less expensive to get them from an aftermarket company that specializes in warranties. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Warranty-Quote.html They offer free quotes, so it’s easy to see how much one would cost for your vehicle.

go in there and bitch and raise holy hell. i wouldnt put up with them scratching my vehicle. of course they’ll deny it and you can decide whether its worth it to you to file a claims action against them. you’re probably kicking a dead horse, sorry about your loss

those repairs will fall under the warranty. my mother had her ssr worked on and they really scratched it, but they made it right

Talk to the Service manager at the dealership right away. Make sure you photograph the damage. Have a witness as to the condition of the dash before service. Have them write a statement that you can provide the service manager. If they are less than cooperative ask for the phone number to Lexus customer relations and speak to them about the issue. Get names of who you speak with at the dealer. Document everything. If the dealer isn’t willing to help, Lexus most likely will. They are high on customer satisfaction.

hmmmm … you may need to be polite and persistent …. but worse case scenario, you could contact Lexus Corporate in Irvine, CA … if you search them on Google you should be able to find them ….
Not all Lexus dealers are created equal …. I found out the hard way myself (long story) …. Now I check the dealer’s Better Business Bureau rating before I choose a dealer to go to ….
I think you can resolve this …. but it may be like pulling teeth. The economy is mostly to blame I think, as many, many Lexus dealers do excel at service …. generally speaking. The car dealerships are hurting these days ….. my Lexus dealer used to give me little free perks sometimes, but now they do not … things are slow for them, but their overhead is still huge …
I say go for it …. start with the general manager at the dealership in the form of a certified letter with photos …. and just keep going until they resolve it ….. document all communications … all that stuff, you know …. so that if you do have to take it to the Corporate office … you have a detailed paper trail of what you did first …

you might want to post this question where many Lexus Gurus are …. over at Lexus Owners Club … it is all free, including being a member.
this web forum has saved me tons of trouble and loads of $$$$ … it just might help you ….
all the best …

Noises and rattles are one of the most difficult things to correct. A noise might sound like it is coming from one place, but is coming from another. The dealer can have a engineer flown into the dealership to look at your vehicle if the dealerships seems to be unable to correct the problem.
