lexus warranty service?

When i hit the 14,000 miles mark on the odometer, I started experiencing squeeks & rattles, mainly in the centre of the dash, the dash area in front of the passenger and weired noise from the odometer, rear deck and drivers side a/c vents. The noise are wrose during the day. i took the car to the dealer more than 4 times regarding the matter and the noise is still there. once i drove a 2009 lonaer is250 and the car had the same noise. i contacted the head quarter and engineers from there came and inspected the car and did nothing to it claiming that the car is running fine and has regular minor noises. what do they mean by minor noise and the car shouldn’t have any noise at all. they told me they cant do anything further from here regarding this matter and gave me the number for "national center for dispute settlement" where i can call and dispute if i want to. now at this point what should i do? how active is the "national center for dispute settlement" or the lemon law. should i go for it or it will be a waste against such a big corporation. also i know a lot of cars with these problems and i am not the only one. thanks everyone….

This is a good example why I don’t buy import cars. People think they are so great until they buy one. Honestly, I would trade it in on a GM with a 5 year/100k mile warranty. Once you buy a Japanese car, they don’t care about you. Good luck with the Lemon law case because it rarely works with foreign cars.

Lemon law? Has ANYTHING on the car failed to perform its intended function? Ever?

You said yourself that a lot of other people have similar problems – why do you think this is not simply a matter of wear and tear on a vehicle?

Here’s the deal: You are now the owner of a used car. It is no longer a new car. You drive the car. In doing so, you submit the car, its chassis, and everything inside to vibration and torsional flexing. Translation: the parts of your car ALL move a little bit in relation to one another. Now, you chose to purchase a car that has a large number of plastic parts that, over time, will begin to make some noise when subjected to such movement. Is this the manufacturer’s fault?

I suppose you could have a legitimate gripe about build quality being lower than you expected, but the simple fact is that, in order for the car to be built for the price you chose to pay, the quality of build and materials simply doesn’t get much better than a Lexus. You could pay more for better quality, but expect to pay a LOT more to find anything that meets your expectations.

Squeaks and rattle annoying, but they just squeaks and rattles. It’s not like your transmission failed at 14k. Many cars have or will have squeaky interiors over time. My last three vehicles started having squeaky and rattling body panels in the first 10,000 miles.

Did you call Lexus USA in California?
Lemon Laws depend on your state. Call your State’s Attorney General’s Office and/or Division of Consumer Affairs. These laws usually greatly favor the consumer but you have to meet the requirements for having made a best effort to get the problem repaired.
Write to the owner of the dealership. KEEP WRITTEN RECORDS OF ALL COMMUNICATIONS. When they know you are informed and building a case, they will fix your problem otherwise they will just keep jerking you around.
