will my car warranty cover some rust on the car?

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring, with about 26,000 miles on it and the warranty is good for 4,000 more miles. I live in IL so our weather has been harsh this winter, but I just noticed rust all along the bottom of the car under the door on the passenger side. Would warranty cover this or no? Is this something I can fix myself?

Thanks

Check your warranty info booklet, or with your Chrysler dealer. The rust warranty is different from your vehicle warranty. In most cases its a 10 year rust perforation warranty, ie. a body panel is guaranteed not to rust through for 10 years, minor surface rust is unlikely to be covered.

File a complaint with the manufacture. Look on the inside of the drivers door and find out where the car was made. Expect the normal hassle of them telling you that there has been no complaints. Tell them you want to file. Then tell them to notify you of any recall notices. You can begin by going to the local dealer but,,,,it won't get you anywhere I don't imagine. Also ask them for any service bulletins.

For some folks the extended warranties arent worth the money but for me it is. I would have been really in a mess without it a few times with my van when I didnt have the money to pay up front. I was really happy I had the extended warranty.

It's simple to get a quote at a website to check how much it will run you for a extended warranty. I have recommended http://warranty.safelinked.info – Good luck.
