Would you buy a extended warranty outside the dealer ship?

i just bought a 2001 audi s4 . i was so close to buying a third party warranty , but got smart real quick . has anyone had a good experience with extended warranty. i would love to protect my car but i think it might not be a good idea.. please share any helpful info please

No. Odds are if you use it, it will never equal the amount you spend. Waste of money. Good luck

First, a personal note. I bought an extended warranty for a 3 year old car. It seemed like a good deal and it looked like they cover everything. What I did not realize is that parts/labor are only covered if they FAIL. Let that sink in for a minute. My starter went, leaving me stranded. I had the vehicle towed to the repair shop. They confirmed that the starter needed to be replaced even though after firing it about a hundred times they did get it to catch. The warranty company refused to cover it because it did not FAIL. It was simply wearing out.
Never again!

I sometimes ponder that warranties arent worth the money on the other hand for some people I know it is, especially if your car is not reliable. They are handy if you dont have cash to shell out for breakdowns.
